Senior full-stack developer

About the role

You’ll own large features or whole modules on client products, from breaking down the requirements to running them in production, and work directly with our clients’ teams, many of them in the US.

What you will do

• Work directly with client teams: join their calls, explain technical decisions in plain words, and agree on what gets built.
• Break business and product requirements into tasks the team can build.
• Own large features or modules end to end, through to production.
• Handle deployments and CI/CD pipelines yourself.
• Review code and hold the team to its coding standards.
• Mentor junior developers.
• Flag risks and blockers early, to the team and to the client.
• Suggest improvements to architecture, and refactor where it pays off.

What we look for

• Excellent spoken and written English. You’ll present work to clients and talk through trade-offs with people who aren’t engineers.
• Experience in full-stack development, including 3+ years with React and a deep understanding of hooks.
• Node.js with Express or NestJS.
• A SQL database: PostgreSQL, MySQL or MariaDB.
• Git, and AWS or another cloud.
• Nice to have: MongoDB or another NoSQL database.

You’ll also need

• Experience working remotely, and comfort with remote tools and practices.
• A stable internet connection.
• Comfort working hours that overlap with the client’s working day.
• Experience means paid work on products people use, for clients or at a product company. Course, training and personal projects don’t count.

How you’ll work
