One platform for every order, from sale to delivery

The challenge

Hyper manages manufacturing on behalf of its customers. A customer says what they need built, Hyper has it made by its network of satellite manufacturing vendors, and Hyper takes responsibility for the whole process: engineering, quality control, the build itself and delivery. Customers deal with Hyper alone.

Being the go-between means tracking a lot of moving parts: sales and orders, engineering specs and variants, production at different vendor sites, quality checks and deliveries in transit. All of it was spread across separate tools and processes. Hyperspace is Hyper's own platform for managing the whole lifecycle in one place, and we joined to strengthen Hyper's development team and help build it.

Hyperspace had to connect to several outside tools, each owning part of the process, and still be the single trusted record, with their data reconciled without conflicts or duplicates. The products are high-value, so customers expect to know exactly where their order is, which checks it has passed and when it will arrive.

What we built

• Build and order tracking at the factory, following each order through production at the vendor's site so Hyper can see where every build is.
• Sales and order management, from the sale to a confirmed order, connected to the ERP the sales team uses.
• A customer tracking app where Hyper's customers can see where their products are, when they will arrive and which quality checks are complete.
• Integrations with the ERP, the engineering platforms where builds and variants are defined, and the delivery tracking tools, all feeding into Hyperspace as the single source of truth.

How we worked

Our engineers work inside Hyper's team, with DevOps support on demand. Hyper gets extra development capacity and infrastructure skills when it needs them, without hiring full-time for either.
